Daina was flying a top secret jet and was forced to eject when it was attacked and captured by a submarine. The Soviet government initially blamed the incident on the United States of America, bringing tensions between the two superpowers to their highest point since the [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Cuban Missile Crisis|{{#if:||Cuban Missile Crisis}}]]. However, the jet had in fact been stolen by renowned trophy hunter Lord Chumley, which was later revealed by Optimus Prime. Prime Target

Transformers vs. G.I. Joe

Denia—so codenamed for the joy she took in denying her victims mercy—was a member of the horror-themed Oktober Guard. Form Follows Function She and the rest of the Oktober Guard were bred specifically to survive in deep space. Everybody Hates Metroplex Denia participated in the team's outer space attack on G.I. Joe's "non-human" unit U.S.7, which ended when both groups were swallowed by the gigantic Autobot Fortress Maximus. Form Follows Function After escaping Maximus and witnessing the apparent destruction of Earth, the Oktober Guard laid claim to Cybertron under the name "New Transylvania" and came into conflict with the Decepticons. 2005 IDW continuity

Daina was part of the Oktober Guard force sent by Baron Ironblood's cabal to retrieve the Talisman from a bunker beneath the city Verenya in Schleteva. Daina and her comrades broke into the bunker, literally, and engaged the titan master Blackrock, Rom the Space Knight, Action Man, and G.I. Joe forces under the command of Mayday. When the Talisman was accidentally set off during the fight Daina was able to take cover behind a field generated by Rom's Neutralizer. Daina's teammate Major Bludd was less fortunate, his arm was left exposed and mutated by the Talisman's energies. Daina was quick to use her kinfe to sever the major's arm before it could claw him to death. After helping the injured Major Bludd back to the Oktober Guard's vehicle, Daina provided cover-fire as they attempted to escape with the Talisman, before being intercepted by Kup. Daina and the rest of her teammates appeared to survive the crash, both they and the Talisman were teleported away by the M.A.S.S. Device before they could be captured. Crisis Intervention

Notes

• The Oktober Guard are the Russian counterpart to G.I. Joe, created for the Joe comic books, and later appearing in three episodes of the Sunbow G.I. Joe cartoon. The inclusion of the Guard in "Prime Target" is a result of the fact that it was written by G.I. Joe cartoon story editors Flint Dille and Buzz Dixon.
• Solely by virtue of being female, this pilot can be considered to be the lone named female member of the team (at the time), Daina, seen as she appeared in the Joe cartoon in the image at right. Hirofumi Ichikawa agreed with this analysis, identifying the character as Daina in the fact booklet included with Pioneer's Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers 2010 DVD set.
• In the European French dub of Prime Target, she is dubbed by a man, probably because there was no actress present at the recording session this day.
