Attacktix is one of Hasbro's gaming properties. Players select an "army" of figures, then try to use the figures' special abilities (firing missiles, spring-loaded strike attacks, and the like) to knock down the opposing force.
The game is designed to be played both with a simple move-then-attack pattern, or by adding extra rules concerning charcaters' point values and special powers acivated when a pieces is knocked over, adding greater levels of strategy.
Initially, the Attacktix line consisted solely of Star Wars characters; however, Hasbro has since introduced Transformers characters to the mix, using a combination of Energon and Cybertron characters, as well as a few oddball "generic" units, like the Decepticlone Light Unit. Most strikingly, the Attacktix line featured a "crossover" pack, pitting Transformers characters AGAINST Star Wars characters for utter supremacy of the Male Action market.
Whether other Transformers generations will join the Attacktix war has yet to be seen, but seems highly likely. Hasbro's recent acquisition of Marvel Comics' properties and the announcement of Marvel Attacktix figures also increases the likelyhood of more Transformers offerings, as well as other Hasbro toyline properties like G.I. Joe.
