The Ocean Storm automatically transforms into armor when it is pegged onto Bumblebee's back and folded over his collar. Like all ''Cyberverse'' Elite-class armor, The Ocean Storm features a unique built-in helmet. Its armor mode has limited articulation, with elbow and bicep swivel joints, but does not have any shoulder articulation to speak of due to the way it automatically transforms when attached. As a result, it cannot assume the slightly splayed stance that it is shown in on the back of the package. It also has a flip-out anchor weapon which snaps into place in ship mode and unlocks by changing to armor mode. In addition, the armor features multiple 5 mm post holes, including the hands, shoulders, elbows, and one on the left forearm. The bridge and conning tower are only held in by friction, and as such may pop out during play. Using the power of the AllSpark, a Cybertronian could augment themself with any non-sentient vehicle or machine in the form of spark armor, combining its capabilities and weaponry with that of the wearer. This includes tank guns, missiles, flight, drills, and the like.
When Optimus Prime and Megatron both arrived to claim the AllSpark, its guardian Cheetor granted them spark armor from a jet and helicopter, respectively, for use in a trial by combat. TrialsStarscream later demonstrated the power of the AllSpark to Slipstream and the assembled Seekers by forming spark armor from a construction vehicle. He later used his new upgrade in an attack against the Nemesis and Megatron. Dark Birth
Later, Starscream granted Sky-Byte and Jetfire spark armor from a tank and drill-mining vehicle in order to pit them against one another and distract the Autobots and Decepticons from his plans.
