This article is about the transformation-inhibiting device designed by Scorponok. For Dirge's circuit-scrambling device, see Electronic jammer.
Jammered!

A jammer is a device resembling a ballpoint pen that emits a wave of some sort at a frequency that blocks a Transformer's transformation ability as well as their ability to take action on their own, but can still be driven as cars. Ordinarily a jammer can only affect one Transformer, but when modified with a frequency splitter, it can work on up to two. Further alterations allow the user to control the Transformer by remote.

A counter device called an anti-jammer is able to nullify the effects of all jammers within range.

Marvel The Transformers comics

[edit]

When the mysterious Z Foundation hired four bounty-hunters to hunt down Transformers, they equipped each with a jammer to incapacitate their prey. Now known collectively as the Roadjammers, these human operatives quickly set about subduing and capturing the Autobots Sizzle, Fizzle, and Backstreet.

Suspecting that the Z Foundation's Mr. K, Mr. L, and Mr. B might be in league with the Decepticons, Felix, the brains of the Roadjammers, modified the jammers by doubling their strength. Sure enough, he was soon forced to disable Squeezeplay, Horri-Bull, and Fangry too, earning the wrath of Mr. Z and his Headmaster partner Scorponok. Fortunately Felix had one more trick up his sleeve—the ability to remote-control the "jammed" Transformers and use them as weapons against the Decepticon leader, forcing him to deploy his prototype anti-jammer. Now able to act of their own accord, the Autobots took the Roadjammers to safety before any harm could befall them, unaware that Felix had already begun to reverse-engineer the jammer technology. Ca$h and Car-nage!
