Autobots with two heads love to make their enemies rust. This is a fact.
Doublecross carries a rust-ray rifle, and Doubleheader carries a rust-ray gun. Both fire rays that make metal rust.
The Omnibot Downshift also totes a rust rifle for all his dimension-hopping misadventures.
Fiction
Dreamwave Generation One continuity
In robot mode the Monsterbot Doublecross carried a rust-ray rifle that corroded an enemy's armour until it disintegrated. Doublecross's More than Meets the Eye profile Similarly, Doubleheader wielded a corroding rust-ray gun. Doubleheader's More than Meets the Eye profile
Toys
The Transformers

- Accessories: 2 magnetic-guided rocket launchers, rust rifle
- The Transformers Downshift (a.k.a. Camshaft in Japan) came with a chromed gun, identified as a rust rifle in his instructions.
- Doublecross (Monsterbot, 1987)
- Accessories: rust-ray rifle
- Doublecross came with a white rust-ray rifle, according to his instructions and packaging bio.

- Accessories: double helmet, rust-ray gun, acid pellet pistol, wings/backpack
- Doubleheader came with a small grey rust-ray gun for his inner robot to wield, according to his instructions and packaging bio.
Notes
- Downshift's unpublished Marvel Universe profile confirms that he would have carried a rust rifle in that continuity,[1] while his Dreamwave More than Meets the Eye profile eschewed the rust rifle in favour of his neural shock gun.
- Given that Downshift and Camshaft's names were switched in Japan, the Tech Specs for the Generation 1 Japanese release of Downshift's toy called this weapon a hand pulse laser.
