- The Fly is an Earth robot from the Generation 1 continuity family.

The Fly is a hideous transforming insectoid robot. He appears to be a scientist, going by his big metallic lab coat, though exactly what he creates with his intellect (telepods, perhaps?) is unknown. He can transform into a giant housefly.
Help him. Help him.
Fiction
[edit]Ask Vector Prime
[edit]When asked why Transformers based on the Fly and other classic monsters exist, Vector Prime replied that they were seen as fearsome and potent alternate forms. Evidently, robot-Fly is actually the alternate form of an unknown Cybertronian, not the real Fly. What a buzz-kill. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/06/10
Toys
[edit]Generation 1
[edit]A transforming toy of the Fly was proposed in the 1980s to be part of a "Vintage Horror Movie Series". The series never made it past production art, unfortunately, though said art could be found in the Deluxe edition of Transformers Generations.
Notes
[edit]- One particular incarnation of the Fly (from The Fly II) had the privilege of folding Garry Chalk in half.
- The Fly's alternate mode appears as a mechanimal in the Beast Wars: Uprising story "Not All Megatrons".
Foreign names
[edit]- Japanese: ハエ男 (Hae otoko, "Fly-man")
