During the reign of Zeta Prime, Hefter of Uraya was a manual laborer and friend to Tappet. He aspired to be an astrophysicist, but the lingering functionist doctrine dictated that he use his forklift alternate mode to perform manual labor at one of Cybertron's many spaceports. Inspired by their message, Hefter joined the Decepticons and took to graffitiing their rhetoric, and was also suspected of being a gunrunner for them.
