General Marcus was one of a group of army generals debriefing Optimus Prime and Ironhide after the attack on the Nevada Test and Training Range. Partway through, he received news of two meteorites landing near Hurley's Crossing, and despite the misgivings of the other two generals, informed the Autobots about them. When it was realized that the Decepticons were targeting Hawthorne Army Depot, Optimus proposed a joint mission, with General Marcus accompanying the NEST team to the site.

When they arrived, a battle was already in progress between Ratchet and Bumblebee and the Decepticon Reverb. Marcus had to stop the soldiers from firing on Reverb, because they were endangering a young boy on the battlefield. Following the Decepticon's defeat, Optimus argued at length with Marcus that the boy, Kevin Bowman, should come with them and join NEST. Marcus eventually acquiesced, promising to classify any future missions Kevin went on, and even arrange a tutor for the boy. Switching Gears

Marcus and his men joined NEST, and set up shop at a new Rapid Response Base. He oversaw testing of experimental Hyperdynamix tanks, following which he held a briefing about the new storehouse the technicians had pinpointed at Antler Peak. When they received word of a Decepticon attack at Hyperdynamix, Marcus accompanied Optimus Prime to the laboratories to oversee defense of the facility, though neither he nor the Autobots knew that the attack was a diversion. While they were there, Gears and Bumblebee took Kevin and Douglas Porter to Antler Peak, much to the annoyance of both the General and Optimus. Battle Mountain

Marcus joined Optimus Prime in a preview of Hyperdynamix Aerospace's new technology. When Dr. Porter revealed that the new satellite would broadcast a signal that would wipe out every Decepticon on the planet, Marcus was in favor, though Optimus considered it possible there were Decepticons worth saving. It later turned out that the signal would wipe out the Autobots as well, and Marcus forced the Hyperdynamix flight controller Lyons to talk Kevin through disabling the satellite. He later attended a briefing about Blue Planet. Satellite of Doom

Colonel Marcus busted Staff Sergeant Deadman back to Private for having an affair with his wife while he was the commander of a base. General Marcus at some point assumed command of NEST. Private "Dedcliff" Deadman did his best to remain off the General's radar. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/09/01
