Shard is an Armorizer from the Infernac Universe by way of the Legacy: United toyline.
She's not a rock! She's a rock copter!

Shard is made of death crystals from the planet Dread!<ref name="Fanstream">March 21, 2024's Hasbro Pulse | Transformers 40th Anniversary Fanstream | March 21, 2024 on YouTube, with Ben MacCrae, Mark Maher, and Evan Brooks.</ref> With double death crystal blades on each arm, she's one Rock Lady you'd better watch out for.

Legacy

[edit]
"And we've got a Glimmora lead! Wow, I've never seen that before!"
  • Infernac Universe Shard (Deluxe, 2024)
  • TakaraTomy name: Shard (シャード)
  • TakaraTomy ID number: TL-74
  • TakaraTomy release date: 2024 October 26
  • Accessories: 2 turbine cannons, 4 rotor blades/swords
  • Known designers: Mark Maher (Hasbro), Takio Ejima (TakaraTomy){{#if: |, {{{2}}}}}<ref name = "Fanstream"/>
Released in the second wave of Legacy: United Deluxes, Shard transforms from rocky robot to a rocky helicopter. Her rotor blades separate from the main rotor to form hand-held swords (though they must be held sideways, as a tab prevents them from being held vertically), while the turbines become (non-firing) cannons.
As an Armorizer, Shard can also disassemble into a variety of rocky chunks, forming weapons and armor to attach to other figures via 5 mm post.
Her shin armor comes detached in box and her instructions neglect to inform you that they go on her shins, though her legs are shown with the shin armor already attached. The instructions do show the parts being removed for armor modes, however.
Stock photography of the toy depicts a non-final color scheme lacking the bluish teal sections.

Notes

[edit]
  • Shard is inspired by the Rock Lord Solitaire.<ref name="Fanstream"/> Seeing as Solitaire was a blue and white diamond rather than a green and yellow helicopter, though, the inspiration would appear to have been incredibly loose.
  • She was the subject of the initial pitch for the "Armorizer" gimmick as per her designer Mark Maher.<ref name="Fanstream"/>
  • An early name for her was "Ruinatia".<ref>https://www.instagram.com/stories/markclonus/3331892486131961925/</ref>

Foreign names

[edit]
  • Japanese: Shard (シャード Shādo)
