While the majority of Transformers—particularly those engaged in the Great War—will deploy lethal weaponry, others are content to use stun weapons to incapacitate their opponents instead. These can work in a variety of ways, with examples including:

Dreamwave Generation One continuity

[edit]

Finback was armed with a rifle that fired viscous slime capable of ensnaring and stunning its targets. Finback's More than Meets the Eye profile Pincher's Pretender shell was armed with a high-voltage stun rifle. Pincher's More than Meets the Eye profile In all three modes Sky High wielded a cerebro circuit-scrambling stun gun that could also jam radio frequencies. Sky High's More than Meets the Eye profile In base mode, Spaceshot and Blackout's all-terrain tank had a scout vehicle component that was armed with a stun cannon. Spaceshot's More than Meets the Eye profile Rollout's Targetmaster partner Glitch was armed with a stun gun and a photon blaster. Rollout's More than Meets the Eye profile

Toys

[edit]
Only toys that are explicitly listed as having (or being) "stun weapons" are listed here.

Notes

[edit]
  • Although Grimlock's original toy came with two ranged weapons—"stunner" lasers and a rocket launcher, as identified in his instructions—he was almost always depicted as holding the former while being described as wielding the latter, leading to the two weapons becoming conflated over time. See galaxial rocket launcher for more details.
  • As was their wont, the writers of the Dreamwave More than Meets the Eye profiles switched up the names of some of these weapons; Glitch's stun laser and photon gun became a stun gun and photon blaster, while the Anti-Aircraft Base's stun laser was upgraded to a stun cannon.
