Maximal Reconnaissance Ships (サイバトロン偵察機 Cybertron Teisatsuki) are one-man spaceships used by the Maximals for reconnaissance and other ostensibly low-risk small trips. In case of danger, the pilot has to rely on the twin lasers mounted at the front. Maximal Reconnaissance Ships come in two variations: with or without tailfin. The tailfin might be an indication of rank, but it might also not.

Urged on by a nightmare and mysterious voice, Lio Convoy took a Maximal Reconnaissance Ship to make the journey from the Maximal base to a curious island filled with ruins. Presumably, Tasmania Kid and possibly the other Maximals took the remaining reconnaissance ships to follow him. Infiltrate the Mystery Island!
