Nightglider is a Maximal from the Beast Wars portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
A shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist.

Nightglider thrives in darkness. Being a spy, his nocturnal lifestyle and loner attitude serve him well. Although he is used to working alone, he is extremely loyal to the Maximals. Such loyalty, however, is something he is not convinced all Maximals share. He constantly questions other Maximals' true allegiance, even if he has known them for dozens of Stellar Cycles. As such, though his allegiance to the Maximal cause itself is unwavering, he is prone to double, and even triple cross his individual Maximals on a regular basis. He can never truly trust what they might plan to do with the information he has gathered, after all.

Beast Wars: Uprising

[edit]

Nightglider flew for the Maximal Nation after they seceded from the Builders' domain. When the Vehicon Apocalypse began, he guarded the Nation's airspace fiercely against possible infestation. Nightglider and his wing-mech Wedge Shape encountered the Star Dasher as it entered Maximal territory. After confirming Ser-Ket and her posse were clean, they were allowed to land. Derailment

Beast Wars

Squirrel + wings = flying squirrel
  • Accessories: Sword
  • Known designers: Masakatsu Saito (concept artist){{#if: |, {{{2}}}}}
Released in the third and final wave of fourth-year Beast Wars Basic figures (and the only new product in said wave), Nightglider transforms into an orange Transmetal 2 flying squirrel. His sword can be sheathed inside his tail. His spark crystal is located dead in the middle of his robot mode chest; unlike most Transmetal 2 toys, his crystal is not hidden behind any sort of flip-open panel. It's just out there, bold as you please.
This mold was later redecoed into Robots in Disguise Dark Scream.

Notes

[edit]
  • Nightglider was noted to have a Sciuridon beast mode in Beast Wars: Uprising.
