The Earthforce and Terrorcons realize what's really going on.
Synopsis
[edit]"The Saga's Latest" (Part 1)
[edit]The Earthforce watch as Volcanicus and Devastator have at each other and realize that their plan all along was to create an excuse to get a new C.O.M.B.A.T. Bot by getting into a fight. The only problem, as Prowl notes, is that the Constructicons had the same idea. Laser Optimus confirms for Hoist that they will most certainly not be getting involved in the fight. Prowl hopes they can just watch and wait for them to burn out, but Armada Scavenger fears another party will get involved before then, which Brawn sees as a given. Optimus comments that the worst possibility would be one of the Thirteen Primes intervening, whereas the others are thinking more logically and realize that the Terrorcons are more likely to do so. Hoist then deduces that the Constructicons are not acting of their own accord, but rather on Megatron's orders, and that a strike force is waiting to make their move when the time is right. Optimus orders Blaster to scan for anyone else who might be in the area while he calls for back-up.
"The Saga's Latest" (Part 2)
[edit]BW and Armada Megatron realize that this is all a trap and that they're missing something. Armada Wheeljack asks if they think Sideways set them up, but Breakdown Prime argues that he may have just been fed disinformation as both a test of loyalty and to lure them into the trap. The Megatrons decide they will still try to recruit the Constructicons, as having them on their side would be advantageous. In the process, they'll also draw out whoever Megatron has waiting to strike, which the other Megatrons figure out (by putting themselves in their counterparts' shoes) that those bots are most likely Seekers. Wheeljack inquires about how they'll draw them out, to which the Megatrons reply that they'll fall for their trap... with a twist!

Gameplay
[edit]This event was an Alliance event on the Mayhem gamemode, meaning players were to unlock points with their Alliance, all of which went towards unlocking various prizes. As a Mayhem event, each battle was still won by destroying the HQ, but instead of the rest of the buildings and defenses being destroyed upon them doing so, they could continuing destroying the remaining structures until the 3-minute timer was up to gain additional points. The one caveat was that these bases cost a whopping 15 fuel cells to raid, compared to alternative, easier (but lower-rewarding) 5-fuel-cell-worth bases in the same zones.
The top prize was 1000000 Prime XP points, and due to the event having 5 prestiges, they could be earned multiple times.
Notes
[edit]- This event was originally billed as a standard non-Mayhem event, however it would not be the case when the event went live and the dev team opted to instead leave as it be since the event was already intended to be on the light end points wise.
Continuity notes
[edit]- The running joke of Laser Optimus namedropping his signature Laser Rod returns in this dialogue.
- Megatron devised his whole master plan in "Faction Free".
Errors
[edit]- When Laser Optimus says, "Guess this is what the Dinobots' had in mind, Inferno", there should not be an apostrophe after the Dinobots' name.
- Brawn's line, "After all, it's only Week 5... of a 9-week saga no less!", is missing a second comma after "saga".
Trivia
[edit]- Both Brawn and BW Megatron make meta-references to the game's saga format for story content.
