| The name or term "Megatron" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Megatron (disambiguation). |
- "Megatron" is an artificial intelligence from the Generation 1 continuity family.

At first little more than a puppet of the real Megatron, this Megatron Avatar has evolved past its programming to become a powerful force of evil in the universe. But what spark has ignited this transformation?
Fiction
AMK Series bio
As part of a get-rich-quick scheme, Slizardo and the Skuxxoid set up shop in Unicron's disembodied head, where they would recreate Transformers as artificial intelligences from Unicron's data banks (extracted with the help of Squawktalk and Beastbox) and embody them with an Avatar that would charge visitors for advice. One such traveller was Cyclonus, in search of spiritual guidance after leaving the Decepticons, and the Avatar took the form of Megatron. Frustrated by "Megatron" not giving a straight answer on who he used to be, Cyclonus's outbursts uncovered the deception, and his subsequent rampage destroyed Unicron's head for good. But cast adrift in the depths of space, "Megatron" still functioned... Decepticon Avatar Megatron bio

- Megatron (AMK Series, 2026)
- Accessories: Fusion Cannon, 2 additional pairs of hands (Splayed, Pointing)
- Released exclusively for the online storefront of Agabyss, organizers of the unofficial incarnations of BotCon, this Yolopark AMK Series kit of "Decepticon Avatar Megatron" is a redeco of the same line's Megatron, and is a snap-together model kit of the Decepticon leader in bright orange and metallic blue, evoking a legendary unreleased toy of the original Megatron touted in the early 2000s (see below).
- Megatron was announced on May 5, 2026 and immediately in-stock for purchase on the Agabyss website, with buyers receiving the toys mere days later (an unusually-quick turnaround to perhaps prevent a repeat of the previous year's "Ladybug" snafu!). Attendees of the unofficial BotCon 2026 could also purchase one as part of their registration for pick-up at the convention,[1] where Agabyss threatened to continue "Megatron's" adventures.[2]
Notes

- Megatron is based on Hasbro's pitch for a Commemorative Series Megatron, redecoed in bright orange and chrome blue to try to comply with safety standards regarding toy guns. Even these colors weren't enough to convince Toys"R"Us to carry it, and the toy was shelved. According to Aaron Archer, a potential name to explain the toy's unusual colors would have been "Lava Megatron", though fans instead nicknamed it "Safety Megatron"; predictably, Agabyss announcements for the model kit heavily played on Men Without Hats's "The Safety Dance".[1][3]
- The toy's official name is Megatron, with "Decepticon Avatar" as its faction and function. His box bios call him ""Megatron"" (with quotation marks) and "the Megatron Avatar", with "—ATAR MEGATRON" in Cybertronian text. BotCon's socials call him "Decepticon Avatar: Megatron" and "Avatar Megatron", while the store listing adds "Decepticon Avatar Megatron" without the colon and the stock images go with "Decepticon Avatar" without the Megatron!

Though it might as well have been nearly an eternity since the lax toy laws of 1984, Hasbro still thought there was a chance to bring the Walter P-38 Megatron back to Toys R Us store shelves. Sporting a chrome blue and bright orange accents, the idea was submitted, turned in to a production sample with mock up packaging and… ultimately still rejected!
FINALLY, 24 years later, what turned out to be one of the coolest deco’s ever for a G1 toy, is now available for you to grab via our latest Official Yolopark Exclusive - “Decepticon Avatar: Megatron”.
