- The W Cassettebots are an Autobot subgroup from the Headmasters portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
The W Cassettebots (aka "Double Cassettebots") are a subgroup of the Autobot Mini-Cassettes subgroup. Made up of dinosaur-robots, they can double-up with a partner to form a humanoid robot.
The W Cassettebots are:
- They combine to form Decibel.
- The combine to form Legout.
Trivia
- The "W" is apparently Japan's method of denoting "double". It was also used for the Micromaster Combiners during Return of Convoy, which were denoted the "W Teams".
- It is unknown if the pairings of Grand Slam/Raindance and Beastbox/Squawktalk are considered W Cassettebots (or W Cassettetron, in the case of Beastbox and Squawktalk). Those pairings were not sold at normal retail in Japan, only offered as mail-aways.
