The IDW Beast Wars continuity incorperates a variation of events of Beast Wars II and Beast Wars Neo into its history creating a fairly unique timeline for the Beast Era. It appears to go something like this...
Great War (Pre-Beast era)
- Maximals and Predacons begin to appear/be created and fight alongside Autobots and Decepticons. (No details of this are known, but it had to happen somehow.)
Great War (Beast era)
(As opposed to the 3H BotCon comics, which seemed to suggest that the Pax Cybertronia and the Great Upgrade to Maximals and Predacons were roughly simultaneous, IDW continuity makes it quite clear that the Great War continued for a good long time after the emergence of the new factions.)
