So I was thinking. There are several characters who do not exist as toys/merchandise, yet appear in multiple media formats. Firestar appears in both cartoon and comics. Derodomantatus is in both comic and prose. And so on. I think we should have an umbrella "Fiction-only characters", with comic- cartoon- prose- as sub-categories, so non-toy characters like the above can be properly noted.
