He is best known as one of the original members of the Australian rock group, the ''Little River Band'', and was one of the composers of the soundtrack for ''Elizabeth''. Formosa was responsible for the music used during the cinematic sequences of Atari/[[Melbourne House]]'s [[Transformers (Melbourne House)|Transformers ''Armada'']] video game, in which he composed the first officially orchestrated version of the original ''Transformers'' theme music since 1985.
