Skids and Mudflap arrived on Earth as part of Autobot reinforcements that Optimus Prime requested. They both choose the form of an old, beat-up ice cream truck. The newly-arrived Autobots joined the human-Transformer military alliance N.E.S.T. and began training in earnest on Diego Garcia, but soon had to be deployed to Shanghai, China. Alliance issue 4

Mudflap and his brother Skids scanned new alt-modes and went with Bumblebee to find Jetfire. Mudflap later helped fight Devastator and ended up being sucke almost into Devastator's mouth.
