- The Thanatos is a Decepticon warship from the Generation 1 continuity family.

The Thanatos is commanded by Razorclaw and the Predacons. Armed with Starblitz torpedoes, it possesses firepower sufficient to destroy a planet.

The Thanatos transported Megatron to Earth so he could investigate the shambles Starscream had made of the Earth's infiltration. His communique to commander Razorclaw was interrupted by a human. Infiltration issue 4 Megatron ignored the creature and ordered that the Thanatos destroy Cybertron, if necessary, to stop Thunderwing. Stormbringer issue 3 However, Razorclaw assisted the Autobots by deploying strike teams to the surface, and held off on firing long enough to allow Optimus Prime to stop the rampaging monster, sparing the planet.
