Devastator (ROTF)

Devastator is a Decepticon Combiner from the Revenge of the Fallen franchise in the live-action film continuity family.

Whether he's formed from six or seven Constructicons, Devastator is a giant among giants. He's so huge in fact that his body simply cannot support itself when carrying his weight upright, forcing him to lumber on all fours.

The fusion of the Constructicons has produced a mind that's very much less than the sum of its parts. Intelligence goes out the window, with Devastator relying on almost pure instinct in battle.

Upon arrival to Egypt, the Constructicons that made up Devastator combined and attacked Leo Spitz, Seymour Simmons, Skids, and Mudflap. It rampaged through the construction faciility, sucking up anything not anchored down, such as sand, cars, and Mudflap. Despite the powerful vacumn, Mudflap held out for a while before being sucked further in. Seeking vengeance, Skids clambered up Devastator for revenge. However, Mudflap had survived, and blasted a hole through its head to climb out, before further attacking the combiner and slowing it down.

Megatron yelled Devastator's name from atop the Great Pyramid of Giza to end the distraction of the twins. Devastator clambered out the construction pit and roped his way to to the pyramid, using his turbine breath to suck up the stones that hid the solar harvester inside. By this point, Simmons made his way to the pyramid, and radioed a nearby navy ship to fire its experimental railgun that was based on studies of Megatron during his captivity in the Hoover Dam: the gun's blast hit and (presumably) killed Devastator, shattering him into many pieces.

Like the on-screen combiner, but unlike the Supreme class Devastator toy, the Legends class Devastator is comprised of seven Constructicons, including the elusive Overload, each with individual robot modes.

In Hasbro's markets, Devastator will be available as a store-exclusive set, while in Japan the Constructicon team members are available individually as blind-packaged toys.

Devastator is formed from the combination of six transforming construction vehicles that do not have individual robot modes. Unlike prior cases of this format, Devastator's vehicles represent separate Transformers, and some of them have been depicted with non-combiner toys.

• Constructin' Devastator (2009)

Burger King Devastator consists of five parts — a head and body, and simplified versions of the vehicle modes for Long Haul, Scrapper, Rampage and Hightower, which connect to the torso on ball joints. The generic connectors mean that they can be attached in any configuration, however the intended layout is marked with letters from A to D. The ball joints are loose enough to allow limited articulation.

The Devastator Showdown track set is a retool of the Indiana Jones race track. This playset is compatible with the other Hot Wheels-like minature cars. It fires the car on a track to an area that (when a car goes over it) releases a boulder and the Devastator head lights up and makes sounds. The boulder will follow the car down the track until the tracks stop.

Trivia

• Devastator's got brass balls.

• In the movie, none of the components of Devastator are shown as individual robots, so it can be argued that his components ONLY can transform into Devastator. This would justify why the components of the Constructicon Devastator playset to have no individual robot modes as well as why Decepticons Long Haul and Rampage appear in the desert fighting NEST after Devastator has formed.
