- Starscream's Crown is an object from the Generation 1 continuity family.
Starscream's crown was the one he wore at his coronation in The Transformers: the Movie, along with a long cape. Though it featured for but a brief appearance, like Optimus Prime's Energon-axe, it caught on as a popular item in the fandom. As such, it has been referenced again and again.
Fiction
Cartoon continuity
At the coronation of Starscream as leader of the Decepticons, he wore a cape and was crowned by Astrotrain. This was seconds before Galvatron crashed in with his troops and disintegrate Starscream with a blast from his cannon mode. The crown was the only thing to remain intact, toppling down the stars of the stage before being crushed under the foot of Galvatron. The Transformers: The Movie

Unusual (though appropriate for the pompous Starscream), as Transformers don't tend to wear clothes. It was uncertain if his garb was merely for the occasion or if he intended to walk around with that stuff on all the time.
Genesis: The Art of Transformers

Machine Wars Starscream stood on the dais where he was once crowned leader of the Decepticons, which had since begun glowing with the energy of Cybertron's new golden age. As before, he wore a purple cape, but this time he brandished the vanquished Galvatron's torn-off cannon.
Merchandise
- Starscream (2002)
- Originally a chase figure in Japan, this remold of the regular figure includes a cape, newly molded limbs, and a head with the crown as seen in the movie.
- Starscream (2002)
- Japanese ID number: MegaSCF TF 07
- Starscream is a highly articulated, non-transforming action figure. He comes with removable shoulder pads and cloak. He has a choice of normal head or a head with a crown. He also includes extra hands, one of which holds Megatron in gun mode.
- Coronation Starscream (Diamond Select, 2008)

- Released by Diamond Select Toys in 2008, Coronation Starscream was an exclusive to on-line retailer Action Figure Xpress. He was sculpted by Mark Wong of Art Asylum and limited to 600 pieces. It features Starscream decked out in the royal crown, cape, and big honkin' shoulder pads he wore (albeit briefly) in The Transformers: The Movie.
Trivia
The 2005 Supreme class Starscream toy from the Cybertron line comes with his own crown as a homage to his G1 counterpart. It is pretty much a dead ringer for the original.
