Talk:Crown
I like this page - I don't see why it shouldn't exist. It has fiction, it has a toy, we've made pages for less. --Jimsorenson 01:54, 27 July 2009 (EDT)
- It would be better as a page on Transformer crowns in general, since Grimlock also wore one (which is apparently going to be sold with one version of the Masterpiece toy). Plus the Unicron Trilogy Starscream had one in Cybertron... I wouldn't be surprised if even more examples appeared once we made a place for them.
- Incidentally, though, as much as I'm flattered by my art getting referenced, the complete lack of a crown kind of makes it irrelevant on this page.

- IIRC, the Cybertron crown was specifically dubbed the "Decepticon Crown of Leadership" on Supreme Starscream's packaging, which, as a distinctly-named object, should mean that it warrants its own separate page... oh, hrm. I just dug the packaging out, and it's actually capitalized as "DECEPTICON crown of leadership". I'm, uh, not sure what to make of that. --Monzo 04:17, 27 July 2009 (EDT)
- Isn't all-caps-ing their trademarked terms in the packaging text pretty much Hasbro's standard procedure? --KilMichaelMcC 05:23, 27 July 2009 (EDT)
- Yeah, but I was puzzled by the treatment of "crown of leadership" as a common noun, versus the proper-noun "Matrix of Leadership"... like, it's a crown of leadership rather than the Crown of Leadership? Looking over the packaging again, the only feature-related text treated as a proper noun is "Energon" in "Energon blade" and "Null Ray" in "Null Ray cannon", so... I dunno. --Monzo 15:23, 27 July 2009 (EDT)
- Well, going by the cartoon, it certainly wasn't the Crown of Leadership. It was just a random thing that appeared out of thin air when Starscream became a giant, and he basically thought "hey cool, I think I'll wear that!" It certainly didn't denote leadership of the Decepticons, which Starscream never even had. --KilMichaelMcC 23:55, 27 July 2009 (EDT)

- I think the page should be about various crown instead focus only on Screamer's. --TX55TALK 06:26, 27 July 2009 (EDT)
- I'm a bit late to this party, but allow me to add my vote for the inclusion of Grimlock's crown here, as well.--G.B. Blackrock 17:17, 28 August 2009 (EDT)

- I think the subject has been covered to some degree on the Transformer clothing article. That being said, since there were actually TF toys that include crowns, a separate article is potentially warranted. Just as long as we police it enough to keep people from making articles for capes, hats, etc. - so far, no TF toys have included those items. The fact that there's a Decepticon "crown of leadership" in the UT is probably rationale enough to keep this article up, though. Hooper_X 09:05, 27 July 2009 (EDT)
- The Darth Vader Death Star came with a cloth cape. I don't think that makes a "Cape" article at ALL justified, but I figured I'd throw that out there. - Jackpot 00:01, 28 July 2009 (EDT)
- There's a Starscream figure or two that includes a cape and shoulder pads. I don't see why we need this article separate from the clothing article, which should include a toy section at the bottom. -- Repowers 01:27, 28 July 2009 (EDT)

What about Grimlock's crown from the Marvel comics? Could that be further justification for keeping it around? -- SFH 20:04, 10 October 2009 (EDT)
- The page has potential but needs quite the reworking before it's up to standards, IMO. And yeah, Grimlock's crown, and any other crowns in TF fiction, should be brought up. --Detour 20:20, 10 October 2009 (EDT)
Should we keep this page or delete it?(Dr L 21:18, 10 October 2009 (EDT))
I've added sections on Grimlock's crown and the crown that Starscream wore in Cybertron. I also completely rewrote the opening paragraph to be about crowns in general. Does this help matters? --Fortress Minimus 06:58, 8 July 2010 (EDT)
This page is still here? I created the page way back before I knew there was one for Transformer clothing, and considering that other page exists, even I think this one should go.Riddlerj 12:18, 7 August 2010 (EDT)
