This article is about the Beast Wars Neo Predacon. For the Masterforce Decepticon, see Hydra (Masterforce).
Hydra is a Predacon from the Beast Wars Neo portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
We'll have lots of friendly fun!

Hydra (ハイドラー Haidorā) hates being left alone. Unfortunately for him, he has been stationed by himself on the distant planet Porcupine in the middle of nowhere. He can be very friendly, oftentimes a little too friendly. His joyful attitude around other Predacons tends to weird out his guests. In an almost pathetic turn of events, his best friend happens to be the maid droid stationed with him at his bunker. As it is his only companion, he is very protective of it. Hydra may suffer from cabin fever, but he is still a talented warrior whom the Predacons can always count on when they need additional support.

Beast Wars Neo comic

Hydra was killed in an unbearably stupid way by Hardhead who accidentally cut open his chest while threatening the Maximals Longrack and Heinrad. While Hydra, with his last breath, demanded an apology, Hardhead committed seppuku. However, they were able to accomplish their mission of planting a bomb in the Maximal base. Unfortunately, Longrack and Heinrad later deactivated the bomb.

IDW Comics

Hydra is a born underachiever, which is at odds with his attempts to overachieve at everything. Fortunately for him, he doesn't let his constant failures to get the better of him, and continues to strive so that one day, he might actually accomplish something. Beast Wars Sourcebook
