General Blitz is a human cyborg from the Generation 1 continuity family.
You can't see me!

This character has no official visual representation in any Transformers product or media... yet, at least.

As a double agent during World War II, Garrison "Blitz" Kreiger used his cybernetically enhanced body to capture his unit commander Sgt. Robert Savage for his superiors' genetic experiments. Following their defeat in the war, Kreiger prolonged his life with further enhancements, and created both the identity of Dr. Garrett Stromm and his Iron Arm Industries as fronts for his continued illicit activities (which included a hand in the creation of Cobra).

Initiating his own schemes for global domination in the modern era, the self-styled General Blitz has recently cut all ties with his Cobra allies, and plans to lead his own ruthless terrorist organization, the I.R.O.N. Army, in conquering the world. Naturally, G.I. Joe and the revived Sgt. Savage have plenty to say about that!

Fiction

Story of Binaltech

"General Kreiger" joined a cabal of human evil-doers known as the Concurrence, whose ranks included such nefarious baddies as the sinister Iron Klaw, another foe of G.I. Joe. Together, their intention was to drive all giant robots away from planet Earth, turning the solar system into a robot-free "resort". to accomplish this, General Blitz and the Concurrence began creating Decepticon Binaltechs to challenge the Autobot Binaltechs. What they would have done with the Decepticon Binaltechs after that is anybody's guess. Expose All of Evil's Designs!

Notes

Doctor General Garrison Garrett "Blitz" Kreiger Stromm has almost as many looks as he does names!
  • General Blitz hails from Sgt. Savage and his Screaming Eagles, an early '90s attempt to rebrand the G.I. Joe toyline to stave off faltering sales. The idea was dropped when the Kenner offices took over Hasbro's "boys's toys" brands and repackaged the franchise as G.I. Joe Extreme, and while the Sgt. Savage character was transitioned into the subsequent G.I. Joe Extreme series, General Blitz himself was not. The I.R.O.N. Army got a shout-out in Extreme episode "Relics" though.
  • In the lone direct-to-video Sgt. Savage and his Screaming Eagles episode, General Blitz is voiced by Transformers alumnus Garry Chalk.
  • Both the Sgt. Savage and his Screaming Eagles and G.I. Joe Extreme cartoons presented the I.R.O.N. Army as having been the main Axis Power in World War II; basically, they were a kid-friendly substitute for the real belligerent.
  • While fellow Concurrence member Iron Klaw got to show up in the Devil's Due G.I. Joe vs Transformers crossovers, General Blitz has never been depicted in Transformers fiction.
