My fellow bad guys - I, David Willis, your leader, will speak now about my, David Willis', plan. My villainous, villainous plan. Question the plan at your peril!......Uh, any questions? --ItsWalky 05:42, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

I knew ItsWalky was evil! Fire Convoy 18:26, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

He seemed nice to me. Mr. Florky 19:03, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Hi Steve-o. The disapearing history certainly is a strange one. It's one for the technical types, so I've passed it on to JasonR. He's going to have a look and see if he can fix it. He can see the problem, so hopefully he'll be able to cure it. -- sannse (talk) 19:16, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Did I ever send you a set of 4 TF Audio adventures that lacked book-equivilants?

I know it's been asked before- but I'm not clear on the answer. Do we have a spoiler template? -Derik 03:36, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

Yes, such as a template that would HIDE the following spoilers. Other wikis have 'em. Are you telling me we're nto as good as the Thundercats Wiki, which doesn't want people to know Wileycub grew up to work for Mum-Ra? -Derik 04:27, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
We don't, but if you know how to make one, go ahead. --ItsWalky 04:58, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

Bah. I was thinking about a highlight-spoiler-- which is eminently possible. But I looked it up on Wikipedia first. It notes that such a function is 'undesitrable,' because soem web-browsers highlight different, meanign the text is nto visible even if highlightd.

Bastard Browser Wars. -Derik 05:50, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

This is the person who was "editing out all the little jokes that happen to have mild curses in them". I thought this wiki was intended to be "kid-friendly", being a Transformers wiki. Apparently, I was wrong. I will stop doing that now. Again, I am sorry.

Hi, Steve -- Borf the Dwarf here. Apologies if the jokes haven't been much good. Didn't mean to cause a ruckus. I'll take it easier next time. V. sorry. :)

Quickswitch

I'm guessing that Techspec info & mottos are not OK or is it? That's why I didn't put them in there. As to copy-pastes, I did the entries for both Wikipedia & this one on Super-God Masterforce. Evan1975 00:27, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

Downshift move

Ah, alrighty then. Guess I should've taken a look at the Portal first. Thanks! - Doogles 22:41, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

Episode Template comments

Thank you for your comments, Steve-o. At your suggestion, I have eliminated the word "tagline" as well as the date links. Sorry about that by the way; I also started using Memory Alpha (the Star Trek wiki) and they used the calendar template for airdates of shows and birthdays of performers and crew and other miscellaneous things. But if the consensus has already been reached that it's not necessary here, I'm fine with that and will not use any date links. Thanks for your feedback. Telet093 00:23, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

Various and sundry

On your to-do list...

 • Template:Shenanigans - Vanilla display-only messagebox that does just what it looks like, functional equivalent to a disputed-content notice template on wikia
 • Template:Fact - [citationneeded] template, direct off wikipedia. (Actually, a bit simpler, wikipedia had an option for cats or something I stripped out.)
 • Category:Cleanup by month - Cleanup tags by month. The first sub-section of this page (giving an at-a-glance summary) can be auto updated by a script - the same one used for this purpose on en.wikipedia.org with a few tweaks on the pattern-recognition to accommodate wikia's different grammar. The script logs in as me, so I put in some safeties to keep it from running more than once a day, and a kill-switch in case of malfunction. (I should probably give the code for that to Walky...) It's overkill for this wiki- but a nice extra.

(I'm contemplating whether the cleanup cat might more useful as a needs-improvement cat, since that's likely to receive use on this wiki...)

The one wrinkle likely to confuse you is the the use of: in the templates, a boolean parser function that lets the template do things only if certain variables are set. (And thus allows for a neater layout.)

Hope this is useful. -Derik 22:39, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

re: Quotes

Actually I just put them in there to color up the pages, but some were pretty boring. Maybe I'll try and find some more apposite ones. --Autobus Prime 23:12, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

Hi Steve. The edit by HardStuff you reverted on the Main Page was actually a useful edit. He was adding an Interlanguage link which is a link that points to the same article on another language version of the same wiki. In this case, the link was pointing to the new Hungarian Transformers Wikia. The link appears in the left sidebar in the "other languages" section and is the easiest way for people to find this content in their own language. If you look at Wikipedia, you'll see this is used on many articles to link to the same topic in a different language. Angela talk 18:58, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Central Discussion Area

Thanks for that. We've got a small trickle of discussion on my topic happening over there now. I invite you to join in. Thanks, PacifistPrime.

Blackarachnia and Tarantulas

It's simple: Blackarachnia and Tarantulas shared a forced mental link for four episodes, one which went both ways according to Tangled Web and Other Visits. BA forced Tarantulas to break the link through suicide threat via energon; if you'll watch closely, their mental connection remained for a good half-minute or so after Tarantulas said the link was terminated (circumstantial, I know, but possible evidence that the energon interfered with the link temrination? I mean, they did note that BA's suicide plan would take out Tarantulas through the link, and he was feeling BA's pain of the energon radiation through it...). Also, BA retained many of Tarantulas' memories after the link was severed. The link was specifically stated to be psychic by Tarantulas, not technological (as evidenced by Megatron not detecting any transmissions between the spiders when the link was used). All that indicates that some traces of the link remained in BA's mind, and were upgraded by her reformatting into Transmetal 2. No offense, but I can't believe you watched BA's show of telekinesis in Master Blaster and didn't think "Hmm, mind link with Tarantulas?".66.233.183.59 18:27, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

But what does telekinesis have to do with a mind-to-mind link? (Also, shouldn't this discussion all be on one page, specifically Talk:Blackarachnia, instead of being spread across several user talk page?) --KilMichaelMcC 18:40, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
I think his point is they're both psychic powers, and maybe one caused the other.
Valid a point as that is- it doesn't seem consistent with the overall 'rules' governing how Transformers acquire psychic powers. Mutation due to a bad, unusual or too-frequent reformatting seems to be the usual cause. So I'd blame the TM2 Driver or her reformatting moments after death for her telekinesis instead. -Derik 19:06, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
The point is WAAAH ACCEPT MY FANFIC AS CANON. -hx 03:07, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

CSS Question

Steve, in response to your CSS question on my' talk page- the death's head is supposed to dangle off the bottom of the box, just like Jimmy on the cleanup template. Sticking a minheight on the message box just makes it look ghey.

Is it that you want the box to have more breathing room beneath it? I can do that. -Derik 05:11, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

Hey Steve, can you get the Diagnostic Drone to change all the Bumblebees to Bumblebee's? (there's a lot of them.) -Derik 18:25, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Flash archive

You asked the other day whether anyone was actively archiving these flash-sites (which don't come up clean in archive.org.)

I've got a couple working now with all the resources backed up- some little games plus Dwwbot (man what a pain) and an image of the S7 site as of Deceptibot. (140mb!)

Would you be interested in being a backup archiver? I'd just as soon not have these vanish if I suffer a hard drive failure. -Derik 08:04, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

AllSpark/All Spark

Or, "Marcia Marcia Marcia". Steve, Frenzy's subtitles consistently parse the name as "All Spark". To the best of my knowledge, no other movie-related item has done this. However, since all of that fiction is based around the movie, should we not use the name as it appears in the movie? I haven't changed Megatron's entry back, but there are other articles in which "All Spark" was used. Interrobang mentioned this on the Allspark's talk page, and I think it's something we need to resolve so we can be consistent about it in movie-related writing. --Sntint 15:52, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Steve - can you have DD replace "R Blade" with "R-Blade" and "Psycho Orb" with "Psycho-Orb"? I don't like the advanced search on Wikia very much. -LV 20:04, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Headmasters things

As you were able to fill the blanks in for me on "The Emperor of Destruction Vanishes on an Iceberg", I call upon you again for more of the same. It got bumped off the recet changes pages pretty quickly - the same problem afflicts "Operation: Destroy the Decepticons" (although it might just be a clip sequence there, which I wouldn't bother counting), and more importantly, "Duel on the Asteroid". I've listed what I can based on the scripts included on the DVDs, but without the video, ah cannae be sure, captain. - Chris McFeely 17:44, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

i need a bot to help

See my edit(s) to the galvatron page? grand i need the bot to keep ot that way for now, untill a funnyer comment arises —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 58.165.241.232 (talkcontribs).

Um... No. Also, please learn to write proper English before contributing further. --Steve-o 16:37, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Tigatron / Polar Claw

An anonymous editor recently changed one of your additions to the Tigatron article: [1]. I don't really remember the story anymore; your version sounds right to me, but I'm not sure enough of it to make the revert myself. Take a look? --Steve-o 04:27, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Easily done. I've elaborated on the production choices that led to this decision, and the lingering link back to the original character reflected in where Tigatron awakened.--Rosicrucian 05:21, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Bot request

Having moved the Mechanoids/Drones article to correctly reflect canonical usage, the category now also needs to be changed. Can you have your bot change all of the to ? --KilMichaelMcC 02:37, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Autobots Secret Weapon

ASW, seriously, I found this on my old corrupted hard drive. I fear it shall go away if not online.

Also, I just took photos of the 2' tall 'giant' transformers coloring book. They'll need some post-work to make the presentable. Also-also, I have a (mostly) functional 'image' of the final state of sectorSeven.org that someone else shoudl probably be holding. (I'd debatign the relative benefits of artifically adding the early e-mails, no logner on the site, back into it. It's less accurate- but they were the only content dropped and... i don't think it was on purpose.) -Derik 16:48, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

Megatron's revert revert?

Hi. I don't get the joke, what does Megatron falling on his back and firing off his cannon have to do with MMPR? The other joke was better IMO. -Detour 15:30, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

Mt Dew bot

I actually went and hunted down a pirated clip from the movie on YouTube... and though the quality was iffy, comparing the game image to the control art to the movie image... they sure look like the same bot to me, save the face and arm-cannon. I'll concede the game Dewbot's arms look a little longer, but we're still talking a four-armed, digitigrade, grey-cone-headed with two sets of optics and limited torso. At BEST they're small variants of the same base. --M Sipher 08:08, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

*checks his pirated copy*
The MDR in the movie does indeed appear to be based ont he Proctor design... except the Proctor design, if you look at it close-up, appears to have bottles in its legs, not cans. The CtC design, by contrast is a much slimmer version of the same bodyframe, vends bottles, and has a different head.
Different head, different product, different time (the CtC MDR exists earlier in the movie timeline),. and different armarment (in CTC the MDR seems to have no weapons, even in the cinematics it's having to break through stuff with its hands.) == Different bot. -Derik 08:49, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand the page already says that the movie bot is clearly not the same bot as in the game, but this being a plural-bot page... --M Sipher 09:02, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
I was being emphatic.  ;) -Derik 08:29, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

Copyrights Question

*poke* Okay, so I have this thing over at Template talk:Hastak. Do you know the answer?

I did some checking, and it turns out only about 1 in 6 images uploaded include any variant of the phrase "Copyright X, 19XX." (I ripped the upload log, so some portion of those got them added later... but not many.) I'd kinda like to know if we have 3500 images inadequately copyright-tagged or not. -Derik 08:29, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

Bot request: "Part" in comic titles

Hi Steve, I've been changing uppercase "Part" to lowercase "part" in comic issues because the word "part" is not really part of the title. For example, "Devastation, Part 1" was changed to "Devastation, part 1". It could have just as easily been "Devastation, issue 1". Can the bot go through the site and change the rest of these, as well as the links throughout the pages? Thanks.--MistaTee 22:34, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

Sorry about that, then. I didn't know there was still disagreement, and I only moved the Beast Wars comics because the Ascending issues already had that style. I honestly don't have an opinion one way or the other. Interrobang 22:54, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
Not your fault. Tee kinda changed his mind midstream and started doing (issue X) instead of part x.--Rosicrucian 22:59, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, but thanks for doing that Interrobang. I've linked them up within the BW series. --MistaTee 05:18, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi Steve. Yes, we should probably come to a consensus in the naming conventions. How do we put things to an "official vote" per se? I was bored today so I moved the Infiltration and Escalation issue pages. In any case, I am going thru and fixing all the references I can (part X, Part X, Issue X, etc) to (issue X) so that if we DO decide on a new scheme, it should be easy to do a mass replace. I'll stop after I fix all the Infiltration references. --MistaTee 23:22, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

Any decisions made yet? --MistaTee 21:35, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

requesting for transformers wikia indonesia

Hi, i'm just a newbie here..i just wanna ask you, can i make a page of Transformers Wikia in Indonesian language...if can, what can i do? thx! Reply asap..please!

Thekondez 02:10, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

You can do that at here, but I'm not sure how to select the language. --FortMax 03:04, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

Japanese ranks

So are we removing all the Japanese fiction, or what? -- SFH 01:43, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

Um... no? Not even remotely? I was, however, removing links in English-language fiction sections to ranks that don't exist in English-language fiction. I may have been a little overzealous in some instances. If you want to restore some of them I'd be happy to discuss it. --Steve-o 01:49, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
I think for episodes that did air in Japan, and for people that are specifically noted by that rank, should be mentioned as such. I'll admit, I added most of those links that you removed, but some I just provided links to. I'll try to cut back on the Emperor of Destruction thing, but do we have a Western fiction equivalent for leader of the Decepticons? -- SFH 01:51, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
"Decepticon leader," Megatron's function. --ItsWalky 01:58, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
I guess I can see where you're coming from -- the Japanese continuity does include those episodes, after all. But at the same time, I don't like the idea of making assertions about English fiction (such as, "Megatron is an Emperor of Destruction") based on stuff that is arguably not the same continuity. I tend to view the Japanese late-G1 stuff as "add-ons" to the American fiction, rather than the American fiction being "just part of the story" that was told in full by the Japanese. But I don't think either perspective is "right"; they are equally arbitrary. If there's a way of putting the links in with a note or something, so that readers aren't led to believe that the Japanese titles have any meaning in English fiction, that would be okay with me. I'm not really sure how that would go, though.  :( --Steve-o 02:51, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

J-original cats

I don't see how that'll conflict with my subgroup stuff. Feel free to unleash the bot. —Interrobang 02:28, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

Any chance we could get the bot to remove the "Japanese-original characters" category from articles in the subcategories (Beast Wars Neo characters, Masterforce characters, Operation Combination characters, and Victory characters)? I would do it myself, but I'm really burned out at the moment. —Interrobang 03:21, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

TM2 Category title name change (Drone request)

JW noticed Category:Transmetals 2 is... wrong. (it should be Category:Transmetal 2s.) This affects 19 articles. Since it's more than 17 articles (my arbitrarily-decided break-off point where hand-editing becomes obnoxious) I'm requesting the Diagnostic Drone make the change.-Derik 02:11, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Status: NOT COMPLETED
ALL OCCURRENCES OF: "Category:Transmetals 2"
CHANGE TO: "Category:Transmetal 2s"
*sigh* and apparently the change is disputed. Please check Category talk:Transmetals 2 when you see this and see if a conclusion was reached. Shelve the request as appropriate. -Derik 02:15, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
Like hell it should be! Transmetals 2 is CORRECT ENGLISH. --ItsWalky 03:10, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
Then shelving the request would be the appropriate response, wouldn't it?
Go fix Category:Things that don't exist. -Derik 03:18, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Steve-O, I saw your site and I want some lyrics....

Please tell me you can get the lyrics to "Rombi di tuano i cieli di fuoco per i Biocombat" in English and Italian. If you do not, I will mess with your page! Yesssss....... Fire Convoy 19:10, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

psst... Fire Convoy is a Kreemzeek sockpuppet --FortMax 19:25, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

SHUT UP, FORTY! I AM NOT A SOCKPUPPET! I AM AN AUTONOMOUS ROBOTIC ORGANISM FROM JAPAN! Fire Convoy 18:30, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

and if i don't see my lyrics here in five minutes....... YOUR PAGE IS DOOOOMED, STEVE-O! MWA-HA-HA-HA-HA! HA! HA! Ha! ha. ha...... This is boring. But I will mess up your page. Yesssss.......Fire Convoy 18:33, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Your five minutes are up! And there are no lyrics yet! YOUR PAGE IS MINE!(insert maniacal laugh here) Fire Convoy 18:42, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Wow. You are so about to be banned. -- SFH 19:14, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

He probably is banned by now. However; I agree with him on one point. Steve-O has a TF site of his own (or it's a strange coincidence that an admin has the name Steve-O when there is a site called "Steve-O's Transformer Site"). It has the french G1 theme's lyrics but not the Biocombat lyrics. Why didn't you get those, Steve-O? Mr. Florky 19:11, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

CSS Change - Jan 2008

I'm requesting changes to Monobook.css. Cleanup, organization, an a sextet of new styles to largely disable image tagging and 'report a problem,' two features I'm pretty sure Walky would turn off if he could. Request is detailed on the talk page, a link to a sandbox for your copy-and-pasting convenience is also included.

There's also a UI change (haven't done one of these before, but it looks straightforward...) which requires a Sysop. -Derik 11:40, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

User:Gyro-Robo

I'm pretty sure User:Gyro-Robo is a User:Mudflap sockpuppet. They both have a habit of repeatedly adding Caliburn and Beta-Maxx to the Mini-Con category and never reading their talk pages. That, and the Gyro-Robo's first edit was about 15 days into Mudflap's 1-month ban. --FortMax 19:13, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Eh, I think that evidence is insufficient. It's possible there are just two people who have the same annoying habits. That being said, though, Gyro-Robo clearly also needed a ban. --Sntint 19:56, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
Well if you need more, they have the same editing patterns (just messing with categories) and both of them INSIST on adding Unicron in the Decepticon leaders category in spite of numerous reverts, among other identical edits. --Detour 20:11, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
No, it's not really a big deal. He needed to be banned regardless, like I said. I tend to see things that aren't there sometimes, and the "it was true here so maybe it's true everywhere" subconscious thought process is a pet peeve of mine. I wanted to be sure the evidence was overwhelming that they were the same person and not just seperate uncooperative individuals. --Sntint 21:22, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure they're the same person. Gyro-Robo appeared on the Stargate Wiki shortly after he did here, doing his exact same edits (chaning around government infobox info) which was also Mudflap's standard edits. -- SFH 23:48, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Western Governors University

Hi -- I just responded to your post on Central about the audio ads. Thanks for spotting that ad -- you're right, it's not cool, and we killed it. It wasn't something that somebody at Wikia saw and approved... We get our ads from ad servers, and once in a while, they try to slip something through that crosses the line.

Unfortunately, that means that we only know about a bad ad when we see it, and sometimes, the users will see it before we do. I'm usually the person who notices them -- I'm on the wikis a lot, and I have a very low tolerance for distracting ads.

So if you see an ad like that again, please let me know -- you can leave me a message on my talk page here, and I'll make sure it's taken care of. It's important to me that we don't have ads on the site that drive users away.

Also, let me know if there's anything else I can help with. My thing is the Entertainment sites, and Teletraan I is one of the biggest and best. So I'm always available, if there's something you need. Talk to you later! -- Danny (talk) 23:15, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

Hmmm, I just came back to check and I saw the WGU ad again. I'll see if I can figure out why it's still running, and get it turned off for good. If you see it again, please let me know... -- Danny (talk) 00:56, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Elita One

Could you delete Elita One so the G1 character page can be moved there? We have three Elita characters, and none of them are parsed the same way. The G1 character has a space with the word "One", Movie has a dash with the word, and Animated has a dash with the digit. Suffixes are only used if the page title would be identical without one. --FortMax 19:04, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Problem with pictures

Hey, Steve! I am having problems to upload images, every time i try to do that instead of the image appearing in the page i'm trying to edit, it becomes a page of it's own. It happened with the "Jesus of the Northstar" image that i tried to put into the Jesus article and to the picture of Makoto Ono. Was i blocked, banned or something like that? Or is that a common problem? And sorry for my poor english. It's not my first language. --akumateukuma 21:37, 20 February

You need to use code to insert the image you uploaded into the page. You can't upload something "into" an article. is the format. --ItsWalky 00:40, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Well, i uploaded images before "into" aarticles, but it's not happening anymore. But anyway, how exactly i use code, as you mentioned? --akumateukuma 21:46, 20 February
