I haven't read Exodus, so I don't know if this is in there, but the Transformers.com timeline says that in addition to being a gladiator, Megatron's standard job was laboring in the mines as a worker designated D-16. http://www.hasbro.com/transformers/en_US/play/details.cfm?guid=7fd5ecd9-19b9-f369-1041-a7635be83172
