Macabre is a Decepticon from the Generation 1 continuity family.
And after Octane acknowledges me as an equal, I wanna be acknowledged by Misfire!

Oddly enough, despite appearing to be a target in Operation: Volcano, Macabre didn't even get name-checked during the Wreckers' training—possibly because he's just a small-time thug who is awed by the likes of Octane. Sadly for him, Octane and the other Decepticons also treat Macabre with little more than contempt, so he is constantly looking to prove himself to them.

This is why he really wants to kill Emirate Xaaron.

Marvel Comics continuity

Compensating for something? No, no... why do you ask?

Macabre was part of a Decepticon strikeforce that included the Insecticons, the Coneheads, Blitzwing and the aforementioned Octane; according to Impactor, they were among Cybertron's ten deadliest killers. Acting on information recovered by Shrapnel, they believed that they would have the chance of assassinating Xaaron, the leader of the Autobot resistance on Cybertron. In reality, the information had been deliberately leaked and they were unwittingly walking into a trap.

When Megatron called off the attack, the Decepticons turned back for fear of disobeying the Slag Maker - all except Macabre, who was so driven by his desire to be remembered for something that he continued on the mission alone. He had the target in his sights when Impactor intervened, taking the shot meant for Xaaron.

Frustrated at being cheated of his kill, Macabre jumped to his feet to take another shot, all the time ranting about how much he was going to kill Xaaron. Unfortunately for him, the assembled Wreckers blew him into spare parts, and that was the last anyone saw of Macabre. Target: 2006

He's got a smile you'd love to remove with a harpoon arm attachment.

Long ago, Macabre was the leader of Squadron X, a team of Decepticons which served as a brutal counterpart to the Autobots' Wreckers. Wreckers commander Impactor had Macabre singled out as someone who he really hated. Last Stand of the Wreckers #4 Last Stand of the Wreckers #5

Their rivalry came to a head on Pova, and victory seemed in his grasp when Springer was trapped under rubble. Knowing Impactor wouldn't leave Springer to die, Macabre advanced on their position with Tornado and Earthquake. Impactor fired through Springer's torso at them, and this surprise tactic turned the tide against them. Macabre and the others were put in inhibitor harnesses and contained, ready for justice.

But I thought you loved me, Nick. :(

According to Fisitron's Wreckers: Declassified datalogs, Macabre and Squadron X were able to somehow escape their harnesses, forcing the Wreckers to execute rather than imprison them. Last Stand of the Wreckers #4 In actual fact, Pova happened to be a planet where the Autobots weren't supposed to be and the Wreckers were ordered to let their prisoners go. So Impactor went into their cell with a handgun and locked the door, and when he came out Autobot High Command had to be told about how Squadron X had "broken free". Last Stand of the Wreckers #5
