Flashpoint is an Autobot from the Transformers Animated continuity family.

Flashpoint is presumably somebody who gets concerned with public accidents.

When Cheetor caught up with the fallen Crumplezone and Ransack after an intense chase, Flashpoint ran to witness the scene. Moving Violations

Flashpoint is very roundabout homage to the movie Inferno: a redeco of the original Armada Red Alert toy, movie-Inferno's deco (and a similar helmet/face) was applied to the Animated Red Alert body, which was based on the Armada Red Alert character. We do love a roundabout homage here at TFWiki.
She does not have the name "Inferno", though, due to not wanting redundancy with the Decepticon Animated Inferno who was based on Beast Wars Inferno. Unnamed in "Moving Violations", her real name was not revealed until her character model was posted to deviantArt.^[1]
Flashpoint's design keeps both her hands, as Red Alert's was lost in battle.
