Marvel Comics continuity
Optimus Prime controls Roller up to 1,200 miles and his Combat Deck up to 1,500 feet through radio control.
Soundwave and Blaster are particulary adept at detecting very faint radio signals. Both of them serve as mobile communication stations. Soundwave can maintain contact with fellow Decepticons 100 miles away and Blaster can transmit 4,000 miles.
In ray-gun mode, Shockwave can emit a variety of high intensity electomagnetic energy, including radio waves.
Fortress Maximus radio controls his drone units Gasket and Grommet and their combined form Cog. Transformers Universe
Radio can be used by Transformers over long distances. However, it is possible for these transmissions to be intercepted by a third party. When in doubt, in person communication is more secure. The Transformers
While Blast Off was restrained with a mode lock, Blaster was able to remote-control him by radio. Child's Play
A Transformer's head, when removed from his body, can operate the body by radio control. Prime Time!
Headmaster partners can control their Transformer by radio-command. Broken Glass!
Circuit Breaker was able to interrupt Skullgrin's radio control over his Pretender shell. Skullgrin recombined so she couldn't do it again. Monstercon from Mars!
The Transformers cartoon
During their undercover operation to investigate a smuggling ring that was stealing airplane components, Slingshot found out his radio transmitter was removed and was, thus, unable to contact Silverbolt and the Autobots. Aerial Assault
Dark of the Moon
The United States of America used the Apollo 11 mission to investigate an alien disturbance on the Moon. The two human scouts used a period of radio silence to investigate an alien spacecraft crash site without alerting the general public. Dark of the Moon
