The Scythe Claws are Aximili-Esgarrouth-Isthill's answer to yeerk invaders. These powerful claws, along with the speed and strength also provided by his panther morph, seem to be used primarily for intimidation purposes, as the Andalite himself confesses that he "[watches] the enemy run away in fear" upon deploying them.[1] The Scythe Claws apparently include thumbs, something not possessed by regular panthers.
It is unclear what, if anything, differentiates the Scythe Claws from the apparently identical Saber Claws.

- Ax's second retail toy is a retooling of Jake/Tiger, transforming from a funny-looking human into a panther, as well as a transitional third mode combining features from both. His panther mode front claws are separate pieces that attach like gloves named "Scythe Claws." Although this toy has no alien mode, the transitional mode's head has features that suggest an Andalite-to-panther transition rather than a human-to-panther transition.
