During the Decepticon invasion of Earth, Skywarp, Thundercracker and the Insecticons attacked and devastated Beijing, later having a brief argument among its ruins. Skywarp in particular boasted that he had killed half the city's population in an hour. Seeing as how that's like 9 million people, we can only hope he was exaggerating or just really bad at math. NEST Satellite Orion detected energon readings in Beijing, indicating that the Decepticons were deploying Pillars there. It was of concern to NEST because they didn't know why the Decepticons were targeting the city and it was a possible danger to the 14.9 million people living there.
