The W Cassettebots are an Autobot subgroup from the Headmasters portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

The W Cassettebots (Wカセットボット W Kaettobotto) are a subgroup of the Autobot Mini-Cassettes subgroup. Made up of dinosaur-robots, they can double-up with a partner to form a humanoid robot.

  • The "W" is Japan's method of denoting "double", deriving it from "W" being "double u". It was also used for the Micromaster Combiners during Return of Convoy, which were denoted the "W Teams".
  • It is unknown if the pairings of Grand Slam/Raindance and Beastbox/Squawktalk are considered W Cassettebots (or W Cassettetron, in the case of Beastbox and Squawktalk). Those pairings were not sold at normal retail in Japan, only offered as mail-aways.
