- The W Cassettebots are an Autobot subgroup from the Headmasters portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
The W Cassettebots (Wカセットボット Daburu Kasettobotto) are a subgroup of the Autobot Mini-Cassettes subgroup. Made up of dinosaur-robots, they can double-up with a partner to form a humanoid robot.
The W Cassettebots are:
- They combine to form Decibel.
- They combine to form Legout.
Notes
- The "W" is Japan's method of denoting "double", deriving it from "W" being "double u". It was also used for the Micromaster Combiners during Return of Convoy, which were denoted the "W Teams".
- It is unknown if the pairings of Grand Slam/Raindance and Beastbox/Squawktalk are considered W Cassettebots (or W Cassettetron, in the case of Beastbox and Squawktalk). Those pairings were not sold at normal retail in Japan, only offered as mail-aways.
