Iron-on patches were a hot promotional item in the 1980s, used to help advertise and cross-promote Transformers.
Generation 1
1985
- An iron-on patch was included with the S.T.A.R.S. membership kit.
1986
- A set of ten different iron-on patches were used to promote the Prizes in Disguise contest. The patches were included with various Mini Vehicles and combiner limbs in specially marked packages. The patches featured shaded line-art versions of package art for ten characters: Blitzwing, Devastator, Inferno, Omega Supreme, Slag, Smokescreen, Snarl, Soundwave, Superion, and Ultra Magnus.
