He served in the US Navy from 1945 to 1947, and afterward attended the Couinard Art Institute to begin a career in fine art painting. Some of his work now hangs in the Smithsonian.[1] For 14 years, he also worked as an art instructor at Ventura College. In the 80s, he became involved in animation, primarily as a layout artist, but also as a storyboard artist.
