The Battle for Planet Earth
The Autobots were scouting for possible energy sources in South America when Huffer spotted Mount Sheelah. As the Autobots were unfamiliar with volcanoes, despite the fact that the Ark had crashed into one, their human companions John and Tim Gordon filled them in. Intrigued at the prospect of harnessing its energy, Optimus Prime led them to the rim of the volcano, where they were attacked by Megatron and the Decepticons who had followed them there. After they fired at each other from opposite sides of the crater for a while, John and Tim grew concerned that the volcano was about to erupt, and persuaded Optimus to retreat to the foot of the mountain. As it turned out, they were right, and the Decepticons were caught in the subsequent eruption, becoming buried in lava. Terror of Mount Sheelah
