- Rattlers are aircraft from the Generation 1 continuity family.

The Cobra Rattler is a Ground Attack jet that shares its design with the A-10 Thunderbolt, but features VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) engines on the pivoting primary wings and a gun turret behind the cockpit. It is one of the primary aircraft used by the terrorist organization, and the top pilot is Wild Weasel.
Fiction
Marvel Comics continuity

Several Rattlers were part of a squadron escorting the Dr. Mindbender controlled Power Station Alpha into Cobra headquarters. Ace and Lift-Ticket shot down a few of them, after which one fired on a passing boat as a diversion ordered by Serpentor. Power Struggle
Later, another squadron of Rattlers attacked the Ark along with Dirge. Many of them were wrecked after making the mistake of firing upon Omega Supreme, after which Serpentor ended the battle by remotely jamming Dirge's weapon, blowing him up. Ashes, Ashes...
Yet another group of Rattlers joined the Autobots and Joes in the attack on the Decepticons' island headquarters. ...All Fall Down!
G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers

When Cobra took control of a group of Transformers, the Decepticons Skywarp, Thundercracker and an unnamed Conehead were reformatted into Cobra Rattlers. During Cobra's first surprise attack, the United States Air Force were boggled by the speed and maneuverability of the aircraft, and even more so when they revealed themselves to be giant robots. G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers #1 Later, when the Transformers had been freed from Cobra's control, Major Bludd attempted to flee Cobra Island in a Rattler. Unfortunately for him, it was Skywarp. G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers #4
Transformers/G.I. Joe

While patrolling the Fera Islands, members of the G.I. Joe team came under attack by a squadron of Rattlers led by Wild Weasel. However, Grimlock forced the fighter/bombers into retreat. Transformed Some Seekers appeared to transform into Rattlers as well. Trial by Fire
Notes

- The Universe Mini-Con Skyhammer shares his color pattern with the Cobra Rattler, though his alt-mode is an A-10 Thunderbolt.
- Artwork for the episode "Only Human" published in TV Magazine showed Old Snake ominously commanding several Cobra Rattlers and F.A.N.G.s, although neither vehicle actually appeared in the episode-itself.
