Announced by IDW Publishing at New York Comic Con 2009, a comic based around the Robot Heroes toyline was slated for publication starting in May, 2009. It was to be written by Andy Schmidt, and published alongside a Combat Heroes G.I. Joe comic, also by Schmidt.
The series was ultimately released in June, 2009 with a hardcover children's book entitled "I Am Optimus Prime", written by Chris Ryall and Diego Jourdan.
