Fleming was created by Bludgeon, Iguanus and Bomb-Burst in 1984 to infiltrate a human drilling company. Presumably, there was once also a human being called Fleming who was used as his template.

Fleming and his apparent superior Markham discovered a seam of Regenesis ore beneath the dig site in Eden, Texas.
