Ooje is a Mini-Con from the Aligned continuity family.

Ooje (ウージ ūji) is Wheeljack's Arms Micron partner. He's an inventor with a weakness for bad jokes.

Prime cartoon

Ooje only appears as an actual character in the Arms Micron Theater segments of the Japanese broadcast of Prime. Technically, he appears in the main cartoon any time Wheeljack uses his swords, but we're not going to bother with that and just focus on his individual exploits.

While training with B.H. at the Arms Micron-style Weapon Link Dojo, Ooje took a break to tell his sparring partner some puns comparing the Autobots' names to similar-sounding Japanese words. Explosive Sword Transformation! Wheeljack and Dreadwing As the year was drawing to a close, Ooje declared that next year he was going to invent an amazing weapon for defeating the Decepticons. O.P. and B.2 suggested he build a giant Optimus Prime-like mech that could transform into a mobile base for the Arms Microns to ride, an idea which got him increasingly excited up until B.2 added that it should be the size of Mount Fuji. While Ooje rejected this impossible demand, O.P. was still confident that he could do it if he got a new year's present of about four million yen or so. Freezing Transformation! A powered-up golden Ooje formed the blade of the Advanced Star Saber during a battle with the Decepticons' Gravity Planet Bowgun. Sonic Transformation! Ratchet's Recipe He also made up one end of the Double Matrix Saber. Toxic Flame Transformation! Hardshell, King of the Insects

Part of the seventh wave of TakaraTomy Prime toys, Ooje is available only with his larger partner, Wheeljack. He comes as an unassembled, unpainted "kit", using stickers for detail, and transforms from a humanoid robot into... uh... a box with a sword-blade sticking out of it. Awkward. He has numerous 5mm posts and holes that allow him to combine with other Arms Microns to form any number of "Combo Weapons" and "Super Combo Weapons".

A clear-yellow version of Ooje, dubbed Ooje G, was part of a five-piece gift set of Autobot-allied Arms Microns, which also included B.2 R, O.P. R, Iro R, and R.A. O. All five can combine to form a gigantic combination weapon, the Advanced Star Saber.

Early solicitation photos and final package art depict this version of Ooje as opaque pale yellow.

Notes

• Oy, that name. This is gonna take some 'splainin'. It's meant to be a phonetic representation of the initials "W.J." (WheelJack, of course). Japanese doesn't really have a proper "w" sound, so there are various approximations used. Typically, the "Wheel" in "Wheeljack" is rendered ホイル (ho-i-ru), but in this case, TakaraTomy went with an extended "oo" sound to approximate the "W" sound minus the "h".
• The ID number was never announced on TakaraTomy's site. Rather, it comes from the tree his parts are on.
• To go with Wheeljack's samurai theme in the Japanese dub, Ooje speaks in an old Edo dialect.
