Igu is a Mini-Con from the Aligned continuity family.

Igu (イグ) is the Arms Micron partner of... uh... some Jet Vehicon.

There might be lots of him.

Fiction

Prime cartoon

Igu only appears as an actual character in the Arms Micron Theater segments of the Japanese broadcast of Prime. Technically, he appears in the main cartoon any time... uh... a Jet Vehicon uses his cannon, but we're not going to bother with that and just focus on his individual exploits.

Igu got in 15th place during a popularity contest between 17 of the Arms Microns, only beating out Gora and Noji. Sky Dance Transformation! The Suicidal Skydive He later helped the other Decepticon Microns trick Gul into thinking Zori was their new leader. Blackest Transformation! The Shadow of Treachery When Arms Micron Theater ended, Igu and the rest of the Arms Microns got together to say goodbye to their audience. Ultimate Transformation! Fight! Transformers

Toys

Prime

  • Jet Vehicon (Deluxe, 7-28-12)
    • Set ID number: AM-16
    • Micron ID number: M-17
    • Energon Crystal: SP Natural
Part of the fifth assortment of TakaraTomy Prime toys, Igu is available only with his larger partner, the Jet Vehicon, in Japan. Igu comes as an unassembled, unpainted "kit", using stickers for detail, and transforms from a robotic iguana into the Vehicon's shielded "beam gun" arm-cannon. He is covered in 5mm posts and holes as part of the Arms Micron gimmick, allowing him to combine with other Microns to form bigger and more ridiculous "Combo Weapons" and "Super Combo Weapons".
For some reason, the boxback labels Igu's Energon Crystal as a "Power" type, which is green, not the clear-white of the actual toy. This is likely just a printing mistake, possibly because the very similar Noji uses a green "Power" Crystal. Igu is listed as "Natural" in the "Arms Up mission" online game, and he's part of a Super Combo Weapon with two other "Natural" types (see below), so...

"I'm getting too old for this."
  • Jet Vehicon General (Deluxe, 2-23-2013)
    • Set ID number: AM-34
    • Micron ID number: M-17
    • Energon Crystal: SP Natural
Part of the eleventh and final assortment of TakaraTomy Prime toys, this silver redeco of Igu, dubbed "Igu S", now comes with the Jet Vehicon General.

Notes

  • Igu's name is, obviously, derived from "iguana" (イグアナ), condensed down to two syllables.
  • We'd just like to point out how neat it is that the Arms Micron partners to the car-Vehicon and Jet Vehicon go from the same style of blaster to different animals altogether.
