He rushed there to assist in the excavation, leaving a note at [[Fossil Bluff Station]] for his son. While he and the drilling team were still trying to enter the city, [[Slingshot (G1)|Slingshot]] and [[Skydive (G1 Aerialbot)|Skydive]] arrived with the news that the plane his son was on had been shot down. Dr Grey is a scientist with an interest in archeology. Any whiff of a new discovery draws him like a moth to a flame, though evidence suggests he has a poor track record for being beaten to discoveries by his son, Jeff Grey.
