The name or term "Universe" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Universe (disambiguation).

Transformers Universe is a free to play browser based massively online tactical action game, or MOTA[1] set to begin in 2014. It is being developed by Jagex and it is set in the Prime universe. Gamers can choose to be an Autobot or a Decepticon and choose their class, while gameplay is very team-based. The game will feature Prime characters as well as introduce new ones like Prowl and Barricade.

Notes

  • BotCon 2012 attendees were able to reserve their in-game name at the convention.
  • The game has gone through a couple of genre shifts. Initially slated to be released as an MMORPG with multiple classes and conventional character creation, but the difficulty of customizing robots was cited as part of the reasoning in changing it to the quickly expanding MOBA genre. Right. [4] It has since been declared to be a massively online, tactical action game by Mark Gerhard, CEO/CTO of Jagex.
