Cliffjumper was one of the rookie soldiers serving under Bulkhead who were sent into the rift to locate Team Prime. He is close to his friend Downshift, and both have alot to learn from Bulkhead. Cliffjumper's better moments took place in the unaired episode "Scorponok's Scars", where he held off quite a few Terrorcons on Desert Planet/Planet Q reborn while Ironhide chased Scorponok. He also had another shining moment when he attempted to land the failing Miranda 2 on Cybertron's surface in order to ensure Kicker's safe descent.

The name or term "Cliffjumper" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Cliffjumper (disambiguation).
Cliffjumper is an Autobot from the Energon portion of the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.

An impressively-skilled high-risk thrill-seeker, Cliffjumper relishes challenges and stunts that put him in danger. Unfortunately, these stunts often put his teammates at risk as well during combat, which has earned him many reprimands.

You wouldn't want to be kneed by those pads...
  • Cliffjumper (Mega, 2004)
Japanese ID number: SC-18
Cliffjumper transforms into a large Baja-style buggy with electronic sounds and hood-mounted twin missile launchers. It can also transform into the top half or bottom half of a larger robot, able to combine with most other Deluxe and Mega-sized Autobots. The Takara release of Cliffjumper has similar, but more primary, higher-contrast coloration.
As with most of the larger japanese releases of Energon/Superlink toys, his electronics were removed by Takara.
This mold was also used to make Energon Beachcomber.

Trivia

  • As referenced above, the Energon cartoon constantly switched Cliffjumper and Downshift's names around. More often, the yellow-and-green robot would end up being called Downshift, in defiance of the toy names. It also seemed as if the two characters randomly switched voice actors from episode to episode.
