He intended to use it to solve the problem of world hunger by farming animals from the past. Unfortunately the device proved unstable, causing holes in space/time through which animals and humans became displaced, and he was forced to spend all of his time trying to send them back. Professor Simion Hawkins is a middle-aged scientist from the Detroit Institute of Advanced Technology. His peers labeled him a fool for his wild theories about time travel, and he became a recluse, but he never stopped working on his ideas.
