- The Thing is a human from the Marvel portion of the Crossovers continuity family.
The Thing says it's clobberin' time. First on the list is his Fantastic Four teammate Reed Richards for not designing him his own mech but rather reusing that of his long time rival, the Hulk.

The Thing attended Colin and Steve's Christmas party in the Combat Shed, where he was seen hanging around the buffet with a Dalek. Christmas with Combat Colin
Toys
Crossovers

- The Thing was to have been a retool of the Hulk with a new head, transforming from an orange and blue robot into a bulldozer. This toy was presented by Hasbro during San Diego Comic-Con 2009, but failed to materialize at retail.
- It's feasible that Thing was the intended use of this mold; the robot mode of the Hulk is riddled with crack details which are a physical feature of Thing. Additionally, molded details on the figures waist that seem to be for a Fantastic 4 logo are left flat and empty on Hulk.
- Seeing as how the Hulk's head sculpt is a reuse of the sculpt from the first Hulk toy, Hasbro likely changed the toy from Thing to the more popular Hulk character.

- Thing was featured on the cover of Transformers #22, celebrating Marvel Comics' 25th anniversary.
- The bios of the Space Mini-Con Team from Armada were based on three members of the Fantastic Four, with Payload taking inspiration from the Thing.[citation needed]{{#ifeq: ||}}
- A Cartoon Network press release likened Transformers Animated Lugnut to the Hulk, while Bulkhead was likened to the Thing.[citation needed]{{#ifeq: ||}}
- Thing was voiced by a number of Transformers actors over the years: Gregg Berger in Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Dave Boat in The Super Hero Squad Show, the Marvel Heroes MMORPG, Lego Marvel Super Heroes and the Jeph Loeb-produced Marvel cartoons, Joey Camen in the Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer tie-in video game, Brian Dobson in Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes, and Fred Tatasciore in The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 and portions of the 2005 film's tie-in game.
