Interwiki linking (linking to an article on Wikipedia, a Wikia, or other wiki in general) is medium-complicated, but not that hard to learn.

Linking to Wikipedia

To link to the Wikipedia article "Trains" type; Wikipedia:Trains

As with regular links, link text can be provided after a pipe character; Trains on Wikipedia

W:Trains can also be used as a shorter alternative.

Linking to Wikias

There are two kinds of wikia-link markup. To link to the article "Supergate" on the "Stargate" wikia, use this format; Wikia:sgcommand:Supergate

The other format, used by many older wikis, includes a 'wikia:c:' prefix, a holdover from Wikia's 'Wikicities' days. To link to the article "Shipwreck" on the "Gijoe" wikia, use this format; wikia:c:gijoe:Shipwreck:

Several sites on Wikia, such as Memory Alpha, have their own domain and can be linked to using a similar pattern to non-Wikia wiki: MemoryAlpha:James T. Kirk:

Linking from Wikipedia

When editing pages on Wikipedia, links to TFWiki can be made using a similar syntax. For instance linking to our Generation 1 Optimus Prime article from a Wikipedia article can be done as follows:

 • TFWiki:Optimus Prime (G1)
