Fiction

Ask Vector Prime

In universal stream Aurex 1104.30-DB Zeta (a highly Primax-influenced universe), Overload was born from Dr. Brian Jones's attempts at reverse-engineering Maximus combiner technology and applying it to Mini-Con anatomy. Superion, Defensor, and Rail Racer fought Devastator in the Combiner Wars during the Unicron Singularity crisis. Ask Vector Prime

Toys

Universe (2003)

  • Overload (Micromaster Railbot, 2005)
    • Accessories: Rail Racer legs
Overload is physically identical to the 2003 Takara reissue version of San D-Go, transforming into a steam locomotive of currently-undetermined model. He has a flip-down "peg" arm on his trian-mode back-end that lets him link up with any of his teammates with a "socket" link-arm. A small socket at the top of his engine mode allows him to use the Rail Racer leg piece as a roof-mounted weapon; he is the only member of the Train Team that can actually mount this piece in a forward-facing position. He can form the back to any Six-team Micromaster combined robot, as well as the chest to any of the "jet-kibble" style combiners, but his nominal placement is as the back of Rail Racer.
This mold was also used to make D-Go.
Like all of the Railbots, he was originally a Kay-Bee stores exclusive, but later made his way to other outlets, most notably drugstores like CVS.

Cybertron

Overload and the rest of the Universe Micromasters were released in the "main" line in Europe under the Cybertron line. Presumably this is because the Universe line was never released in the European market. Why the Micromasters were the only part of the Universe line to get a European release in unknown, but it probably had something to do with their sub-Basic class size and previously being Japanese-exclusive molds.
