Some cycles before the Autobots and Decepticons returned to Cybertron, Skullcruncher found his way into the depths of the inactive Iaconus. Maccadam let him stay to keep out the "riff-raff".
During the Quintessons' occupation of Cybertron, Skullcruncher attacked Perceptor, making him lose an arm in the process. As Perceptor met up with his comrades in search of Iaconus' cloaking module, Skullcruncher secretly followed them before attacking Clobber. Using the techniques they honed in the training simulation, the other Cybertronians freed Clobber and escaped him. Skullcruncher made one last lunge at the intruders only to get smacked by Maccadam, send him running off. The Citizen
Skullcruncher participated in the climatic battle between the Cybertronians and Quintesson-Sharkticon alliance, snacking on Prosecutors while letting Kup hitch a ride on his back. The Judge

- Skullcruncher's design is heavily inspired by his Generation 1 counterpart's Titans Return toy.
- Despite lacking a faction insignia in the cartoon, Skullcruncher is identified as a Decepticon because of the concept artwork.
